This tutorial has been taken and adapted from my book: Learning Concurrency in Python. This was originally introduced into the language in version 3. ThreadPoolExecutors provide a simple abstraction around spinning up multiple threads and using these threads to perform tasks in a concurrent fashion. Adding threading to your application can help to drastically improve the speed of your application when used in the right context. By using something like a ThreadPoolExecutor we can effectively mitigate this bottleneck by doing multiple fetches concurrently and processing each page as it returns. This is a rather simple one-liner which looks something like so:.

Performance Co-Pilot PCP is an open source framework and toolkit for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to details of live and historical system performance. PCP has a fully distributed, plug-in based architecture making it particularly well suited to centralized analysis of complex environments and systems. This page provides quick instructions how to install and use PCP on a set of hosts of which one a monitor host will be used for monitoring and analyzing itself and other hosts collector hosts.
Monitoring operating system processes enables us to monitor and display process activity in the real time. I n this tutorial, you will learn how to retrieve information on running processes in the operating system using Python, and build a task manager around it! Now you're may be thinking about creating something like this:. Well, not exactly, we gonna make a command line version of this, the final script output will be this:. However, if you are a GUI programmer, you can make this a lot better with your own design and compete with Windows Task Manager!
